The 21st National Day of Export and Investment in North Jeolla Province, which rewards and encourages exporting companies in North Jeolla Province, was held at the Jeonju-Win Hotel on Wednesday (T.hosted by North Jeolla Province and organized by the North Jeolla Regional Headquarters of the Korea International Trade Association.The 21st Jeonbuk Export and Investment Promotion Day" event was attended by about 200 heads of export-related organizations, including provincial governor Song Ha-jin and provincial council chairman Song Sung-hwan.Jeollabuk-do holds celebrations in the second week of December every year to boost the morale and encourage hard work of entrepreneurs who have been instrumental in attracting exports and investment throughout the year.North Jeolla Province held 'Export and Investment Selection Committee' on the 5th of last month and selected eight companies, including Taekwang Precision Chemical, as its 2018 export and investment partners by examining 17 companies recommended by the heads of cities, counties and related agencies.In the export sector, Taegwang Precision Chemical Co., Ltd. in the export sector, KESI in the overseas market diversification field, Woosung & S in the first export sector, Cheonjiyeon Agricultural Company (Yu), and Agricultural Products in the field of excellence in export growth.Six companies were selected in the agriculture and fisheries processing products export excellence, agricultural company Hanwoo, venture business export excellence, and phillosis, while two domestic companies, Daeju Corres and Royal Canine Korea, were selected in the investment category.In addition, a total of 22 companies won the government's export tower, with North Jeolla Province receiving the presidential nomination for export support policy, Miwon Specialty Chemical Co. winning the $200 million export tower and Sungil High Metal Co. winning the $50 million export tower.In addition, 13 people won individual awards, including Hong Seung-pyo, CEO of Sungil High Metal Co., and Kim Hyung-woong, CEO of Miwon Specialty Chemical Co., with the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Merit, Ryu Il-keuk, CEO of Lee Won Comfort Co., receiving the Trade, Industry and Energy Minister Award.Gov. Song Ha-jin said in a greeting speech, "We extend our congratulations and thanks to the companies that have raised hopes for North Jeolla Province's economy by boosting export performance, and we will continue to provide support to North Jeolla companies in the province, including opening trade hub centers and sending trade delegations to major overseas regions."Meanwhile, this year's exports to North Jeolla Province reached $6.6 billion as of the end of October, easily surpassing $5.1 billion a year earlier, and ranking first in export growth among the nation's metropolitan areas, and it has been a year of rapid growth in exports to emerging markets such as Latin America, Asia and Europe.
